How Podiatry May Help You
Caring for your feet and lower legs is much more important than you may think. These complex structures help you stay up and move, so they need to be looked after.
A Canberra podiatrist, an allied health practitioner, focuses on treating conditions that affect the feet and lower legs. A podiatrist could be of great service if you experience pain in your feet or lower legs that restricts your ability to move around as much as you like.
Two major categories of podiatry include general foot care and biomechanical podiatry for sore legs and feet. Capital Podiatry focuses on biomechanical podiatry. We have a hands-on approach to podiatry that is unique among other podiatrists. In focusing on biomechanical podiatry we understand that your feet are unique, and use the techniques that aim to get you back on your feet.

Treatment Techniques
At Capital Podiatry near Fadden we use tailored treatment plans so you’ll get the most out of your treatment. This may include foot mobilisation, shockwave therapy, dry needling, and biomechanical assessments depending on your goals and needs. Additionally, unlike some general podiatrists, we work with you directly to understand your concerns and address them as quickly as possible.
Our Podiatry Services Near Fadden
CUSTOM ORTHOTICS
Orthotics are not a one-size fits all approach. We use the latest technology to design and 3D print custom orthotics that support the natural shape of your feet, made just for you and only you.
SWIFT WART TREATMENT
Warts are more common than you might think. They are difficult to eliminate, but Capital Podiatry’s Swift Microwave Therapy technology aims to speed things up.
SHOCKWAVE THERAPY
Shockwave therapy stimulates the body’s own processes in an effort to treat conditions such as shin splints, inflamed ligaments, plantar fasciitis, and more. Shockwave therapy is applied to the skin using a hand-held application. It does not require medication or surgery.
INGROWN TOENAIL SURGERY
If not treated properly, ingrown toenails can cause pain and even infection. Ingrown toenail surgery can be a great option for you if you have a persistent ingrown toenail/s.
What We Treat
FOOT AND HEEL PAIN
We’ll examine your feet and determine if your foot or heel pain is caused by high-impact exercise, tight muscles, poor walking, or any other reason.
INGROWN NAILS
Ingrown toenails may be painful or even chronic. This means that the ingrown nail will keep recurring. Complications can occur from ingrown nails, especially for people with diabetes, so it’s important to seek treatment. If you get to the point where you can’t wear some of your shoes and/or your condition becomes chronic, we provide ingrown toenail surgery which may take as little as 45 minutes.
RUNNING PAIN
When you’re an active person who loves to run, pain during or after running can really get you down. We take a tailored approach to your running pain and may incorporate gait analysis, mobilisation, and tailored remedial exercises in an effort to get you back up and running.
PLANTAR FASCIITIS
Plantar fasciitis causes heel pain. It occurs when the thick band of tissue that connects the heel to the toes becomes inflamed, leading to pain near the heel that is often worse in the morning. There are many treatment choices, but custom orthotics might be an option to help distribute the pressure more evenly.
FUNGAL NAILS
If left untreated, fungal nails, which is an infection of the nail, bed and nail plate, can be hard to treat. Capital Podiatry can help reduce the spread of fungal nails by using the Lunula Laser treatment.
BUNIONS
Bunions can be described as a bump in the joint, usually located near the big toe and sometimes the opposite side of your foot at the little tip. Treatment options may include custom orthotics or foot mobilisation.
WARTS
Plantar Warts are a type of rough lesion that is usually found on the sole of the foot. They can cause pain if you put weight on them. Swift Microwave Therapy is the most effective wart treatment technology in the world. We aim to treat warts in as little as 30 minutes.
ACHILLES TENDONITIS
Achilles tendonitis (also known as tendonitis or tendonitis of your heel) can lead to tenderness, pain, swelling, and reduced range of motion. To create a customised treatment plan, we assess your lifestyle and objectives.
