Introducing Victoria, our new practitioner, a highly skilled and qualified professional with degrees in podiatry and Traditional Chinese Medicine. With her expertise in both disciplines, Victoria brings a comprehensive understanding of Eastern Therapies to Capital Podiatry.

Victoria’s extensive knowledge of Eastern therapies enables her to integrate various techniques into her treatments, including moxibustion, gua sha, acupuncture, and electro-acupuncture. Moxibustion

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves burning dried mugwort on or near the skin to stimulate acupuncture points. It has been used for centuries to treat a variety of health conditions and is performed by a qualified practitioner.

Research has shown that moxibustion can treat a range of conditions including sciatica, osteoarthritis, Morton’s neuroma and ankle sprains.  Studies also show that it helps to improve the fracture healing time and also helps to treat ankle sprains by assisting to manage the pain and swelling.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is one of our new therapies for treating conditions such as arthritis, tight hamstrings, peripheral neuropathy, sciatica, and leg, knee, hip, back and neck pain.

It’s an ancient Chinese non-invasive therapy that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to assist circulation, treat muscle tension and promote healing.

Studies have shown that gua sha assists to manage pain and inflammation and helps people to be more mobile.

Electro-acupuncture

Knee osteoarthritis is one of the key conditions we’re treating with electro-acupuncture. This condition affects millions worldwide and it impacts your quality of life, causing pain, stiffness and reduced mobility.

Electro-acupuncture helps to improve your physical function and inflammation. We also use this acupuncture alongside our other treatment options, such as Shockwave, for other conditions including plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains and achilles tendinopathy.
