WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A PODIATRY CLINIC?

A podiatrist is an allied health practitioner, who has qualified for the profession with a degree, and treats foot and lower limb conditions.

Podiatry has two major treatment categories, general foot care and biomechanical podiatry.

Biomechanical treatments include assessing how the foot and leg functions when walking and running and how this relates to the rest of the body. It includes treating conditions such as heel pain, shin splints, bunions, joint pain, knee pain and hip and lower back pain.

General foot care includes treating conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, fungal nails, plantar warts and general nail cutting.

At Capital Podiatry in Canberra, we treat many patients who have been referred to us by general practitioners, physiotherapists, massage therapists and osteopaths.

These patients have foot, knee, hip or back pain, and other health professionals have recognised that these patients often need the extra support of a podiatrist.

At Capital Podiatry stay up-to-date with the very latest treatment options and are proud to provide the best way to treat your problems.
